It seems that the only opportunity I have to blog falls on a Sunday, so here I am again, the evening before another week of work. I’m learning that a 40-hour week, while productive and (mostly) satisfying, leaves little time/energy for my usual pastimes. (My knitting has taken a bit of a hit recently, so I had to wear my knitting pin today to make up for it.) Mostly, I come home, watch a movie, catch up on some reading, and cuddle Rae, who just wouldn’t stop modeling for me. I’m realizing how important it is to make time for other activities, even if it’s just taking a little bike ride, making a real dinner, or working on a project.
So, I’ve been trying to squeeze everything into my weekends. It’s also my time to get a little creative and colorful with my outfits. Today I even did a bun! Quite the undertaking for me.
Ball of Yarn Pin
Materials: button, scrap yarn, two toothpicks, brooch pin
This little project hardly warrants a tutorial – I could even make it on one of my lazy weeknights. Wrap the yarn around the button until it’s at the desired thickness. Hot glue the end of the yarn to the back of the button. Glue the pin on top. Slide two toothpicks between the yarn diagonally. That’s it! Bonus, I’ve also been told it looks like a bowl of noodles with chopsticks. Either way, it’s super fun.
