Welcome Diner + Her

diner1Last night, Domenico and I went on a real-life, official date. He took me to Welcome Diner, this sweet little restaurant run out of a 1945 Valentine Diner that operated on Route 66 for 25 years, beginning in the ’50s. Now it serves tasty Southern-style food on a dirt lot complete with picnic tables/lawn furniture and strings of lights.

We ordered one of their biscuit sandwiches with fried chicken, beer mustard, pickles and local honey; the pulled pork share fries; and a side of fried avocado. So good, guys.

And, of course, there were so many cute dogs joining their people for dinner outside, and that makes every meal better, in my opinion.

Then we went to see Herwhich is just a gorgeous movie. Definitely one of my favorites of the year. I may or may not have cried a little, emphasis on the may.
